Turkey’s domestic communication satellite, Türksat 6A, is scheduled for launch in 2024. Telemetry and telecommand systems play a crucial role in satellite communication and control. The telemetry transmitter transfers satellite data to ground stations, while the telecommand receiver processes commands from the ground for execution. These systems enable Türksat 6A to maintain uninterrupted communication with the ground station. The satellite is poised to enhance Turkey’s space capabilities and make it one of the 10 countries with self-representing satellites. Upon completion, Turkey will have a total of 6 communication satellites. Türksat 6A incorporates indigenous technologies, including an electric propulsion engine, developed by Turkish engineers.
